Charitable work

Charity is at the heart of our faith.

Giving — Zakat, Sadaqah, and Sadaqah Jariyah — is central to Islam. Central Jamia Masjid channels your generosity into appeals, emergency relief, and practical support for those in need, here and around the world.

Giving is one of the five pillars of Islam

Causes and communities we support.

Every Jumu'ah, every community gathering, and every event is an opportunity to give. Here are some of the causes closest to our mosque.

Zakat & Sadaqah Fund

Your Zakat and Sadaqah are distributed to those in need, locally and abroad, in line with the eight categories of Zakat defined in the Qur'an.

Orphans & Education

Sponsoring orphans and funding madrasah and education projects, an ongoing Sadaqah Jariyah that keeps benefiting the community.

Your contribution makes a real difference.

Donations can be made at the masjid, through our online donation page, or by contacting the masjid office directly. You can give Zakat, Sadaqah, or to a specific appeal.

Many of our community events and iftars include optional donation add-ons at checkout, making it easy to give while you gather with the community.

Gift Aid is a UK tax incentive that allows charities to reclaim tax on donations made by UK taxpayers.

How Gift Aid works

Gift Aid lets UK charities reclaim 25p for every £1 you donate

You must be a UK taxpayer to qualify for Gift Aid

The mosque claims the tax back from HMRC. It costs you nothing extra

You can declare Gift Aid on Sadaqah, appeal donations, and regular giving (not on Zakat that is paid as an obligation)

Higher-rate taxpayers can also claim the difference on their Self Assessment

When you make a donation through our platform, you can opt in to Gift Aid at checkout. The declaration is managed digitally, with no paper forms required.

During Ramadan, your donations provided iftar and food parcels to hundreds of families in need, both locally and overseas.

Members sponsored orphans through the year, covering food, shelter, and schooling as an ongoing Sadaqah Jariyah.

Welfare

Winter Warmth Appeal

Through combined fundraising, we provided hot meals, blankets, and supplies to homeless and refugee families during the winter months.
